ELYSBURG — Family, friends and community members gathered at Knoebels Amusement Resort to remember longtime park leader Dick Knoebel. The public memorial was held in the Phoenix Courtyard, exactly one month after his death. His sister, Leanna Muscato, said her brother was an Eagle Scout, valedictorian and U.S. Marine.
The family said the memorial service also fell on National Roller Coaster Day, reflecting Knoebel’s lifelong connection to the family-owned amusement park. Knoebels says the family and employees have been deeply touched by the memories and messages shared since his death. Memorial donations are being directed to a Knoebel scholarship fund or the Masonic Children’s Home.
