HARRISBURG — Several schools serving students in region could receive new state funding for school safety improvements. The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency approved grants totaling more than $1.3 million for eight schools and districts.
The funding includes about $299,000 for Mifflin County, $201,000 for Selinsgrove, $185,000 for Midd-West and $178,000 for Lewisburg. Mifflinburg could receive about $176,000, while Juniata County could receive about $200,000. The state says the grants can support security personnel, training, and other ways to cut school violence.
