DANVILLE — A search for a missing 9-year-old boy ended safely after rescuers found him okay, in the Susquehanna River. Emergency officials say crews were called around 2:30pm after the child disappeared from Co-Op Court.
Officials say Lt. Chris Showers of the Washington fire company in Danville spotted something in the water during the search and confirmed it was the missing boy. Showers entered the water and reached the child before helping bring him safely to shore.
EMS checked the boy before he was reunited with his family. Danville, Riverside and Mahoning Township police also assisted, along with fire, boat, drone and sheriff’s department crews.
