SHAMOKIN — Two people are jailed and a third faces charges after ’s shooting in Shamokin’s Fifth Ward left two men wounded.
Police say the gunfire broke out just before noon along South Vine Street. The News-Item reports 41-year-old Armando Reyes and 48-year-old Anjanette Carrington-McQueen were arraigned and jailed on 500-thousand-dollars bail.
Police say Reyes fired a shotgun, striking Anthony Carrington and James Grant, before Carrington returned fire with a handgun. Carrington suffered more serious but non-life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized. Police say he has not yet been arraigned.
Two homes and a vehicle were also struck. Shamokin police chief Ray Siko says there is no continuing threat to the public. The investigation remains ongoing.
